Next,lay cushion on a flat surface and measure the top.
L- length
SW smaller width
W- width
L - length

Measuring a rectangular cushion (see left) is easy,you only need the length and width.
For flared cushions (see below) you only need the length and the width of the wider end to get a price,but you need the width of the narrower end as well to order.
“L” and “T” shaped cushions.
To self measure, ignore the sticking out “peg(s)”,shaded blue in the diagram below, continue the line of the straight part of the side with the peg and measure as a rectangular or flared cushion as shown below. The pegs ? See our TIP below.
TIP - treat the “pegs” of L & T cushions separately,buy a little piece of soft foam ,or use the filling from a scatter cushion to stuff them. Works fine - some upholsterers do it.
If you prefer a fully shaped cushion in one piece, treat as
an awkward shaped cushion!
