TIP - if your furniture was comfortable when new,re fill the cushions with the same
material.
Look inside the cushion case - if the innards have gone flat and floppy and are in
an inner case that looks a bit like white J - cloth,it’s fibre.
Similar,but in cotton case,with small fluffy spikes sticking through - feather.
No inner case,but wrapped in whitish wadding - foam, probably “reflex”.
STANDARD FIBRE
FIBRE - similar appearance to feather,feels firmer (less luxurious),but lighter -
and much cheaper.More about fibre.
STANDARD FOAM
REFLEX FOAM - springy and comfortable,we always supply it wrapped in Dacron fibre
and stockingette - gives a more rounded appearance and an extra layer of softness.
(Other suppliers charge extra for the wrap, sometimes £20+)
FIBRE OR REFLEX FOAM are the most common filling for sofa and chair seat cushions.
FIRM FOAM - more support - less spring. Also comes wrapped in Dacron.
EXTRA FIRM FOAM - beware,it really is. Comes wrapped in Dacron.
DACRON - used as a wrap.
